La Ventana, Baja, MX
Casa Tara Retreat
March 11 - 18, 2023

Saturday

It’s happening!  You’ve landed in Cabo and are making your way through the airport, picking up your bags...  Pressing the button, red or green, what will it be?  Time to let go and get in the flow, your in Mexico!

Make your way past the aggressive timeshare sellers and taxi drivers out to the curb where you will see your Casa Tara van driver, or perhaps your heading to pick up your rental car.  It’s warm, it’s dry, and you head through the desert landscape to La Ventana.

After a couple of hours you pull onto the dirt streets and arrive at Casa Tara. Hello beautiful sea and sky. Time to kick back, relax, and settle in as you take in the tastes (perhaps you are ready for a cold
beverage), sights, smells, and the sounds of your home for the week.

More guacamole por favor! Dinner with new and old friends is delicious. Your hosts make  announcements about what to expect as far as the schedule for the week, activities, and you ask any questions you may have.  Once you finish your meal,  you are ready to hit the sac, or you stay up, look at the stars, and mingle.  It’s your time, you decide.

Sunday

You wake up. Meditation’s an option, so is sleeping in.  Coffee’s flowing along with some light snacks.

Our first gathering for yoga happens and you realize you will be accepted, without judgement, however you are: whether you show up for class, or not, whether you can touch your toes or not, whether you sit in a chair, on a mat, or lie down in Savasana the entire class.  Yoga is not about the physical postures, your teachers tell you – it’s an inward journey of self-discovery.

Morning yoga is followed by a delicious meal and then the rest of the day is yours to explore - a beach with hot springs, hiking through a cactus forest, or relaxing on the beach or by the pool (or many other activities).

More yoga later for those who want it. Happy Hour? It’s your time, you decide.  A delicious dinner again. You’re getting used to being spoiled and smiling.

Monday

Repeat Day 2… although you may be partaking in an excursion of sorts. There are so many options: fishing, snorkeling, kiting, mountain biking, hiking, exploring the beaches and town, swimming, or relaxing by the pool.  It’s your time, you decide.

Tuesday

Repeat Day 3, your getting used to Baja livin’ and in the flow.

 Wednesday

Your getting into the swing of things. Coffee, meditation, snack, yoga all happen in the morning.  A longer excursion to Todos Santos is offered today. Todos Santo is on the Pacific Ocean side of the Baja Peninsula, over the mountains and through the desert and takes about an hour and a half to get to.  The town is big and has shopping, surfing, Mescal tasting, historic architecture, and restaurants to explore. This means no yoga in the afternoon, but we will make it back for dinner.

Thursday

You’re in the flow now.  Meditation and yoga, playing or relaxing is all coming naturally and the time is flying by.  We will stick to our schedule of morning meditation and afternoon yoga followed by delicious meals and activities of your choice. Maybe a massage or spa treatment or more guacamole please.

Friday

Is this week really almost over?  We try and stay present, meditation and yoga help.  You spend your last day soaking in the beauty of Baja It’s grown on you.  At the end of the day you gather for a final Happy Hour, dinner at Casa Tara, and then the farewell party (if your up for it), maybe even some dancing to squeeze every last drop out of our time together in Mexico.

We will have someone come to Casa Tara and do our Covid tests for those that are heading home Saturday.

Saturday

We may squeeze in a meditation practice in the morning if time allows and then breakfast. Packing up and saying good bye is harder than you thought. The people and place have grown on you. You watch the desert landscape go by with a different perspective as you head to the airport. Your heart is full.  Remember advancing in your yoga practice is a journey inward – it has been an adventure you won’t forget.
